Zabbix alerts, routed to the right on-call engineer
Receive Zabbix trigger alerts via webhook media type. EvoHub turns each Zabbix alert into an on-call alert, runs it through your escalation policy, and pages people by voice call, mobile push and email.
How the Zabbix integration works
- Create a Zabbix integration in EvoHub On-Call and pick the escalation policy it should notify.
- EvoHub gives the integration its own URL (or inbound address) with a unique key — paste it into Zabbix using the steps below.
- Each Zabbix alert opens an EvoHub alert, and your escalation policy pages the on-call person — then the next step if nobody acknowledges.
- Resolves automatically when Zabbix sends the problem recovery message.
Set up Zabbix
Create the integration in EvoHub first — it shows your personal integration URL to paste below.
# 1. Zabbix → Alerts → Media types → Create media type → Webhook
# Add these Parameters (Name = Value):
url = <your EvoHub integration URL>
event_id = {EVENT.ID}
trigger_name = {EVENT.NAME}
trigger_severity = {EVENT.SEVERITY}
trigger_status = {EVENT.STATUS}
host_name = {HOST.NAME}
host_ip = {HOST.IP}
event_value = {EVENT.VALUE}
# 2. Paste this into the Script field:
var p = JSON.parse(value);
var req = new HttpRequest();
req.addHeader('Content-Type: application/json');
req.post(p.url, JSON.stringify({
event_id: p.event_id, trigger_name: p.trigger_name,
trigger_severity: p.trigger_severity, trigger_status: p.trigger_status,
host_name: p.host_name, host_ip: p.host_ip, event_value: p.event_value
}));
if (req.getStatus() < 200 || req.getStatus() >= 300) throw 'EvoHub ' + req.getStatus();
return 'OK';
# 3. Assign this media type to the user your trigger actions notify.
# 4. AUTO-RESOLVE (so alerts close automatically when the problem clears):
# a) Media type → Message templates → Add a "Problem recovery" type
# (without it Zabbix never sends a recovery and alerts stay open).
# b) Trigger action → Recovery operations → send via this same media type.
# No script/param change needed: recovery sends event_value=0 and EvoHub
# auto-resolves the matching alert.Zabbix + EvoHub — FAQ
